Calgary police investigating suspicious death in Thorncliffe

Update: Calgary police said the investigation is ongoing into the victim’s death. At this point it is undetermined.

Police said an autopsy was done, but they require further medical tests to determine the cause and manner of death. They will not be releasing the victim’s identity at this time.

According to information acquired by police leading up to his death, they believe the man had been in the garage of the Thorncliffe home for several days. The homeowners are not connected to the death, police said.


Calgary police are investigating after a man in his late 20s or 30s was found dead in the northwest community of Thorncliffe Saturday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 15, officers were called to the 6100 block of Thornaby Way NW after reports of a man found dead in a detached garage.

According to police, the victim isn’t known to the occupants of the home. Police are looking into the events that led to his death.

Police are working to identify the man and notify the next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
