Watch: Calgary police seek suspects in car theft tied to summer 2021 shooting

The Calgary police are looking for suspects and a suspicious vehicle connected to a car theft and shooting last summer.

Two suspects were discovered after police reviewed a homeowner’s video of the theft in the 0-100 block of Patterson Blvd. SW on Aug. 2, 2021 around 1 a.m.

The suspects

The theft

Police believe the stolen turquoise Chevrolet Spark is the same vehicle seen at a shooting a few weeks later in the community of Crescent Heights. There is a second suspect vehicle seen during the shooting on Aug. 19 in the 200 block of 11 Avenue NE. It was a silver Nissan Versa.

The Chevy Spark was later recovered after it was abandoned in the community of Renfrew in late August.

The recovery

The male suspect is described as having a slim build, and was wearing black or dark coloured runners, shorts, a baseball cap, short-sleeve T-shirt and black or dark coloured gloves, at the time of the theft.

The female suspect is described as having a medium build, and was wearing black or dark coloured runners, leggings, a baseball cap and a hooded sweater with the hood up over the cap, at the time of the theft.

After an ongoing investigation, Calgary police believe the occupants of the Chevy Spark during the shooting may be the suspects wanted in the vehicle theft. They may also have information about the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
