Police are searching for a man who followed a woman in southeast Calgary and sexually assaulted her inside a store.
According to police, at approximately 3 p.m. on May 17, a woman was walking west on 17 Avenue SE, near 36 Street. She was approached by an unknown man, who attempted to talk with her. She declined and continued to walk down 17 Avenue SE, police said. She walked into a store in the 3200 block, and the man followed her inside.
Inside the store, the man began touching the victim in a sexual manner and making sexual gestures, according to police. Employees within the store called police, causing the man to flee the scene.
The man is described as 6’1”, about 25-years-old, and wearing black pants, a white shirt, and grey and black jacket with the letter ‘M’ on the left chest, a black baseball hat, black mask and white and black shoes.
Calgary police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.
