The identity of a man who was shot and killed in Eau Claire has been released.
Benjamin Virtucio, 29 was found dead on June 5 in an underground parkade at Barclay Parade SW.
Police responded to the incident at approximately 8:10 p.m. after reports of shots fired.
Police are looking for any witnesses and anyone with information on a white Mercedes car that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting. The car is believed to be a C400 class.
On June 6, a suspect was arrested. On June 7, a residence in Airdrie was searched in connection to the killing.
Abdullahi Barakobe, 26, has been charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping using a firearm.
He appeared in court yesterday.
Police are still looking into two suspects. The first is described as a man in his 20’s with light-brown skin, black hair. He is short in stature with a medium build.
The second suspect is described as a Black man, tall with a small build.
Both suspects were in hoodies, police said.
Investigators believe this was a targeted attack in connection to drug trafficking.
The investigation is still ongoing and police continue to look for outstanding suspects.
