Calgary police investigate two separate suspicious deaths in the northeast

Calgary police are investigating two suspicious deaths in northeast Calgary, both of them happening Monday.

Police say there’s no indication the two deaths are connected.

On Monday at 9:15 a.m. April 27, Calgary police responded to the 3500 block of 32 Avenue NE for reports of a man in distress. Prior to officers’ arrival, EMS declared the man dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives are now investigating, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.

Police are canvassing the neighbourhood for information and any possible CCTV footage. They’re also talking to potential witnesses.

On Monday evening around 9 p.m., Calgary police were called to a residence in the 600 block of Marian Crescent NE after there was a report of a woman in distress.

When they arrived, a woman had been declared dead at the scene by EMS and there was also a man in distress. He was transported to hospital in serious condition.

Police said the investigation is in its early stages and it’s not know what happened in the home.
