Canada’s federal election: Our coverage decision

The Canadian flag. FLICKR

We’ve made a decision, Calgary.

Over the next six weeks, you will be inundated with news on Canada’s upcoming federal election – most of it will be national in scale.

Our mandate is to bring news back to the community. Street-level, neighbourhood issues are our forte.  We’ve decided our focus should be on you: The community.

To that end, we won’t be dedicating resources to ongoing coverage of Canada’s federal election.

When the federal election intersects with our mandate to provide Calgary with a community voice, coverage will be considered. We’ll find our spots to contribute to the conversation in a thoughtful, deliberate and productive way.

We wanted to be transparent in our approach and share it with our loyal readers.

As always, your feedback is important. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact either Darren Krause or Josie Lukey directly.

If you have a community-issue or story, please let us know!
