Calgary police suspect double murder in mother and child disappearance

Calgary Police say they’re now treating the disappearance of a missing woman and her child as a potential double homicide.

In a Facebook post, the Calgary Police Service said they have been unable to find any evidence that Jasmine Lovett, 25, or her 22-month-old daughter Aliyah Sanderson are alive.

The pair were last seen in Cranston on the evening of April 16. The last activity on Lovett’s financial accounts are from two days later.

Police have a suspect in custody for questioning. The suspect and the victims knew each other.

Calgary Police are working with other officials in Cranston and Bragg Creek in the search for evidence, and they’re asking people around Bragg Creek to check their property for evidence and to report anything suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call the CPS non-emergency number at 403-266-1234, or the homicide tip line at 403-428-8877.
