Noble Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai to speak in Calgary

Malala Yousafzai, the youngest-ever winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be in Calgary this spring to speak at a leadership conference.

Yousafzai will be the headlining speaker at The Art of Leadership for Women conference set to take place on April 4.

The 21-year-old student and human rights activist won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 at the age of 17, making her the youngest recipient ever.

She became famous first for speaking out against the Taliban in her Pakistan village, after the terrorist organization tried to keep girls out of schools.

Despite an assassination attempt by the Taliban when she was just 15, Yousafzai recovered and continued to advocate for the rights of girls and women.

She authored her biography, I Am Malala, which became an international bestseller.

Tickets for the event start at $499.
