It’s all about the teamwork and preparation.

Team If Found Please Feed members Austin Beever, Sedique Majid, Erin Kolodziej and Grant Shulman are going to Panama after winning the second annual Adventure Hunt Treasure Hunt over the weekend. They competed against 650 other people to take the top prize when they found the treasure buried at Tom Campbell’s Hill Natural Park.

Billed as the adventure of a lifetime, Adventure Hunt sends teams of two to four people on an exhilarating, adrenaline-packed ride with adventurous challenges that unlock a real-life treasure map on the Adventure Hunt app.

Ecstatic with winning the trip to Panama and more than $1,000 in prizes, including sunglasses, Go Pros and more, Team If Found Please Feed credits their big win to teamwork and preparation.

“We all had different skills and came together; we had a person navigating, a person Googling, a person driving, and we had an awesome runner,” Shulman said.

“And the people of Calgary helped. There was a garage sale by the stadium and some locals gave us directions. We had packed so much stuff in our car land we just really tried to come prepared,” Majid added.

Adventure Hunt spokesman Sean Bingham said the event was so successful in Calgary last year – at the time it was the biggest ever – that they had to come back this year again.

“Calgary is a really outdoors-y town and there are a lot of outdoors-y people here who love doing this kind of thing,” he said.

“It’s basically the Amazing Race meets a treasure hunt that mixes some fun and funny challenges with more skilled tasks.”

The winners have some advice for teams looking to take next year’s title.

“Pack everything you own into your car,” Shulman said.

Meanwhile, Beever says the team is looking forward to going shopping with their prizes, and of course, the trip to Panama.
